Hatikva vision
"..I believe that a wondrous generation of Jews will spring into existence. The Maccabeans will rise again. Let me repeat once more my opening words: The Jews who wish for a State will have it. We shall live at last as free men on our own soil, and die peacefully in our own homes. The world will be freed by our liberty, enriched by our wealth, magnified by our greatness."Benjamin Theodor Herzl
Herzl's vision was of a thriving and prosperous future for the Jewish people and its acceptance by the world. Today, the State of Israel, on the eve of 60 years of existence, is at a crucial stage. The state is thriving, but at the same time, straying from Herzl's vision.
The Live Hatikva mission is to reinforce Herzl’s vision to unite the Jewish people and strengthen our ties wherever we may be. It views the changes in the Jewish world as a spiritual and ethical challenge in the context of its demographic uncertainty, with the number of Jews decreasing every decade. It is an economic, political and social challenge that demands both immediate action and great foresight.
Upon undertaking this goal, Hatikva initiative searched for something fundamental and significant that could be found in the heart of every Jew.
Hatikva is the song of the Jewish people, sung for many years before the State of Israel was established. It is still heard today, in a multitude of forms and styles, in Jewish communities all over the world. Hatikva is the anthem that unites the world's Jewry.
The mission of Live Hatikva is to bridge gaps of language and distance between the Jewish people by celebrating together, in real time.
